Immune fingerprinting through repertoire similarity
نویسندگان
چکیده
Immune repertoires provide a unique fingerprint reflecting the immune history of individuals, with potential applications in precision medicine. However, question how personal that information is and it can be used to identify individuals has not been explored. Here, we show uniquely identified from just few thousands lymphocytes. We present "Immprint," classifier using an information-theoretic measure repertoire similarity distinguish pairs samples coming same versus different individuals. Using published T-cell receptor statistical modeling, tested its ability great accuracy, including identical twins, by computing false positive negative rates $< 10^{-6}$ composed 10,000 T-cells. verified through longitudinal datasets simulations method robust acute infections passage time. These results emphasize private nature data.

Data Fingerprinting with Similarity Digests
State-of-the-art techniques for data fingerprinting have been based on randomized feature selection pioneered by Rabin in 1981. This paper proposes a new, statistical approach for selecting fingerprinting features. The approach relies on entropy estimates and a sizeable empirical study to pick out the features that are most likely to be unique to a data object and, therefore, least likely to tr...
متن کاملThe similarity index and DNA fingerprinting.
DNA-fingerprint similarity is being used increasingly to make inferences about levels of genetic variation within and between natural populations. It is shown that the similarity index--the average fraction of shared restriction fragments--provides upwardly biased estimates of population homozygosity but nearly unbiased estimates of the average identity-in-state for random pairs of individuals....
متن کاملAccurate and predictive antibody repertoire profiling by molecular amplification fingerprinting.
High-throughput antibody repertoire sequencing (Ig-seq) provides quantitative molecular information on humoral immunity. However, Ig-seq is compromised by biases and errors introduced during library preparation and sequencing. By using synthetic antibody spike-in genes, we determined that primer bias from multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) library preparation resulted in antibody frequen...
متن کاملPhonemic repertoire and similarity within the vocabulary
Language-specific differences in the size and distribution of the phonemic repertoire can have implications for the task facing listeners in recognising spoken words. A language with more phonemes will allow shorter words and reduced embedding of short words within longer ones, decreasing the potential for spurious lexical competitors to be activated by speech signals. We demonstrate that this ...
متن کاملImpersonator identification through dynamic fingerprinting
Tracking the source of impersonation attacks is a difficult challenge for investigators. The attacks are frequently launched from botnets comprised of infected, innocent users and web servers compromised by malware. Current investigative techniques focus on tracking these components. In this paper, we propose the Automated Impersonator Image Identification System (AIIIS), which allows investiga...
